Meet Jayne Matoian, RRT, Absolute Respiratory Care’s Owner, Vice President, Secretary and “always” a Respiratory Therapist.

Jayne was inspired to enter the field of Respiratory Therapy when her mother had need for respiratory care during her life. Jayne began her career at RI Hospital and worked in every section of the hospital from intensive care units to pediatrics. She especially enjoyed helping patients understand how to deal with equipment that their chronic conditions required and how to make life better despite certain restrictions.

Throughout her career, what Jayne has enjoyed most is working with patients directly to insure great care. Several years ago, she and Rick discussed the possibility of forming Absolute Respiratory Care, and she knew that it would be the perfect opportunity for her. Here, as the creator of policy and procedures, she could build an atmosphere to guarantee that all patients are treated with respect and dignity. Jayne is also pleased to be able to assure those who refer patients to Absolute that they will receive care for all of their needs: physical, emotional and environmental. Part of Jayne’s expectation is that the therapists of Absolute Respiratory Care make certain that the prescribed equipment is a perfect match for the patients’ needs and the environment in which they live for only when that is true, can their lives be better.

Meet Rick Clark, RRT, Absolute Respiratory Care’s Owner, President, Business Director and “always” a Respiratory Therapist.

A family member inspired Rick Clark to become a respiratory care therapist. At the time he was considering career options, Rick saw how much his brother, a Respiratory Therapist, enjoyed helping others and followed in his footsteps.

Through his work in hospitals and in home care, Rick saw that good care for respiratory patients begins with providing equipment in excellent repair and masks that fit perfectly and comfortably. He also learned that anxiety can increase the ill effects of respiratory illness. Rick stresses the importance of helping patients be comfortable with their equipment and insists that staff members provide both patient and caregivers thorough information on how to use the equipment. He also encourages his staff, as part of patient’s medical team, to inform attending physicians if prescribed equipment or treatment does not seem to match the needs of a patient at home.

It was his concern for his patients that led Rick to create Absolute Respiratory Care in partnership with Jayne Matoian. Their goal was to set standards and procedures that guarantee the best of care for patients, and they do not intend to ever give up on that requirement.

Founded to Excel
Absolute Respiratory Care, Inc. was formed in 2005 to furnish patients with the caring, hands-on attention of experienced, skilled and compassionate therapists while providing physicians the assurance that their patients’ needs are met in a timely and efficient manner.

As Licensed Respiratory Therapists themselves, owner-operators Jayne Matoian and Rick Clark understand the needs of patients who are receiving home respiratory care. They believe that close and compassionate patient care is essential. Their management style and their knowledge of patients’ needs allow them to offer the benefits of larger companies while assuring strong checks against errors that may occur when many people are working with one patient.

Education and Set Up
Patient and family education is built into each care program. Absolute Respiratory Care works in partnership with doctors, therapists, nurses and other caregivers to provide information to our patients on their respiratory condition and how best to care for themselves.  A thorough explanation on the use of the equipment is also provided to all patients and their caregivers.

When equipment is ordered, patients are contacted, and delivery is arranged at their convenience. Certified and trained personnel will set up the equipment and help patients become comfortable with its use.

Within 24 hours of delivery and set-up, an on-sight assessment is completed by one of our licensed therapists. If the assessment reveals home conditions that need special attention, the therapist will make recommendations to the patient’s doctor or other appropriate caregivers.
